Typically we start moving snow around Thanksgiving, but we are geared up and ready should the snow fly earlier.
Our normal “callout” is 4” of new snow. We are willing to adjust this in certain situations, however we are very hesitant to go above 4”. There are many reasons for this, but basically we have found that 4” is enough snow to create problems if it is not removed.
Yes, we are fully insured with both workers compensation and liability insurance.
Unfortunately we do not clear driveways, parking lots, etc. in Crested Butte South, but we do shovel roofs in CBS.
No, we do not use chains. All of our machines are equipped with snow tires only in order to minimize and stress on your driveway.
Although there are many reasons, you can boil it down to stress on the roof. Snow is heavy and can be destructive. Ambient heat in homes can cause a freeze/thaw cycle to occur as the temperature warms during the day and cools at night. This can cause the build up of ice dams which are generally the culprit for leaks to occur.
Generally clearing snow once or twice a winter is sufficient. However, some older roofs require more attention and may need additional work.
No, we only use plastic shovels and rubber mallets to clear snow and ice from roofs
We start early, typically 4am. Our goal is to have every driveway cleared by 10am. Every storm is different and snow can fall at any time of the day, so it’s not always the same. When this happens we do our best to communicate where we are and when we will be there.
